"My husband and I were fortunate to have found this tour with John England Tours. We spent the day with John touring Chartwell and a nearby town, Chiddingstone. I reached out to John about the tour and he was very responsive and helped to plan the day based on what we were interested in. He provided all the relevant information and where to meet which was very helpful.\n\nAs we drove to Chartwell, he pointed out many historical sites. He is easy to talk to and is good at reading his clientele. We enjoyed the conversation.\n\nJohn is very knowledgeable and we thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with him. We walked through the beautiful grounds of Chartwell and he shared historical information and stories about the Churchill's and the estate. He explained before we entered the house that there are docents in each room and that he would share additional information or answer questions if needed. It worked very well and we talked as we walked between rooms. We also went to Churchill's studio where he did his painting and where many of his works were on display. The tour was everything we hoped it would be.\n\nHe then took us to Chiddingstone where he had arranged for us to have lunch at a local tea room which was charming. We walked through the town and saw some of the local sites.\n\nIt was a great day and we look forward to touring with John again in the future."

He provided useful reminder emails, clear directions to the meeting place, safe driving, interesting comments about the village we passed through and, of course was knowledgeable about the venue we visited. Best of all, when I dropped and lost my jacket he stepped up- quickly retracing our steps and asking the staff to keep a lookout. ( my jacket was found !) highly recommend!"

John took us on extraordinary journey back in time with a tour of Charles Darwin's house.\n\nHe is an extraordinary historian with a great sense of humor. It really was a wonderful journey, well worth the time if you are visiting England particularly if you are an historian. Absolutely fascinating. "As a solo traveler, it was nice to have a private tour with John to Leeds Castle. He was punctual and provided very extensive directions on how to arrive at the meeting point. Courteous, friendly and professional from start to finish. We shared conversation during the ride to and from the castle. He arranged for disability accommodations since I had limited mobility. It was nice to have his expertise on the castle. John is conscientious of his presence and steps back to allow you the opportunity to sightsee on your own. I felt like I was traveling with a friend. Amazing experience and I definitely will book more tours when I revisit London. "

He was incredibly knowledgable concerning history and culture of Leeds Castle - it was welcoming to have an expert to explain things we would have certainly missed on our own. "We had a wonderful day with John touring Leeds Castle. John was extremely knowledgeable about Leeds Castle and the surrounding area. He did an excellent job of making the history interesting for my husband and I and most importantly our 13 YO son who has had no exposure to the history of England. John went at the pace we wanted - including allowing my son and us to take time out and enjoy all that the Leeds Castle property had to offer including the maze, dog collar museum and flower gardens.
