It was the perfect event to become familiar with the popular foods in the area, a little bit of history and becoming familiar with the city for our remaining 4 days. "We recently had the absolute pleasure of taking a Withlocals food and wine tour through Lisbon with Angelo Andre, and it exceeded all expectations from start to finish. We met Angelo at the beautiful Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara, right by the fountain, where he greeted us warmly and gave us a fascinating and thorough history of Lisbon. His passion for the city and its culture was immediately clear. Our first tasting was the iconic pastel de nata at Fábrica da Nata. Here, Angelo explained the pastry’s deep connection to convents and nuns, its history, and the special ingredients that make it so delicious. From there, we tried the famous Ginjinha (cherry liqueur) at A Ginjinha Sem Rival, which was as authentic as it gets. Next, we visited Maria Palato for an exceptional wine tasting paired with charcuterie. The owner herself poured the wines, sharing the history behind both the food and the wine, making it an unforgettable stop. Angelo then treated us to an incredible pork sandwich at Bifanas du Afonso—the kind of simple perfection you dream about after leaving Lisbon. Our journey continued into a multicultural neighborhood, where we enjoyed a deep-fried pork and chicken pastry topped with the flavorful PDP sauce—something truly unique. We ended our tour at Menina Sardinha with delicious cod croquettes, tomato rice, and crisp vinho verde wine—a perfect finale. What made this tour truly special was Angelo’s personal relationships with each of the restaurant owners. At every stop, the food was prepared in advance and ready for us, making the experience seamless and welcoming. Our scheduled 3-hour tour stretched into 5 wonderful hours, with Angelo generously sharing his time, knowledge, and love for Lisbon. After the tour, he even sent us a list of recommendations for restaurants and places to explore during the rest of our stay. I can’t recommend Angelo highly enough—not only to anyone booking through Withlocals, but to my closest friends and family. His knowledge, warmth, and genuine care for his guests made this the highlight of our time in"

"We did the tastings tour with David on the afternoon we arrived in Lisbon. Our flight was a little delayed, and David was fine to push our start time back a half hour. We loved the time we spent with him! He gave us some great knowledge about Lisbon, and we got to try a few different items. He gave us the history on many of the drinks and foods we had, and that was awesome. He also gave us the names of some restaurants and bakeries to try, and some tips on how to get around the hills - we definitely used some of his info! He was in no rush, and our tour went over the two hours. It was definitely like walking around with a friend. Great experience!"
